One person was wounded as a result of an alleged drone strike by the Israeli army on Monday, 2 December 2024. The incident happened while personnel of the Lebanese army (Lebanese Armed Forces/LAF) were carrying out fortification work inside their Al-Abbara military site in the village of Hawsh al-Sayyed, right at the northern border with Syria in the governorate of Hermel. As the injured was a member of the Lebanese Army, they have been classified as a civilian at the time of the strike, the Lebanese Army was not considered a party to the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah. This will be updated should additional information come to light.
In a tweet by @LebarmyOfficial, the LAF announced a soldier had been moderately injured. No more personal information was given or disclosed by the LAF or other sources.
A post by the local news source, Lebanese Jupiter News page (Facebook) was accompanied by a picture of a bulldozer and a picture of a military site of the LAF with an observation tower.
Several posts, besides @LebarmyOfficial, like bintjbeil.org (Facebook), attributed the drone strike to the Israeli military.
