Airwars assessment
On Monday, September 23, 2024, multiple social media posts showed videos and reported on airstrikes on the outskirts of Nabatieh, in Kafr Reman, Lebanon, and the university neighbourhood which resulted in at least two injuries.
According to a post from News from Bekaa, a raid on Kafr Reman “targeted” a home, resulting in the partial destruction of the home and “minor injuries in the vicinity of the raid, including two cases of suffocation.” GLIS Media similarly reported that the injuries were initially minor and treated in the field, while one case was transferred to the hospital. @NabilaFadel6060 tweeted that in response to the raids, ambulances were heading to the location. Videos posted by multiple local sources show the moment the strikes occurred, and the aftermath of the strikes, which also caused a vehicle to catch fire.
While none of the sources provide direct attribution of the attack to Israeli forces, the use of “targeted’ and “raid” are likely to refer to the Israeli military given the context. Therefore, this incident has been graded as a “likely strike”.
The local time of the incident is unknown.
