Airwars assessment
On 24 September, 2024, two brothers, Manhal Mohmmad al-Daher and Joumaa al-Joumaa al-Daher, originally from Syria, were killed in alleged Israeli bombing in southern Lebanon.
Independent accounts such as @nahermedia, @Hamamlssa7, and @ralshhwan9 on X/Twitter confirmed the names of the two men, citing that they were from the village of al-Saan al-Aswad in the northern countryside of Homs, in Syria.
A common photo was shared of the two together on Facebook, depicting two young men with dark hair and beards. They’re pictured both wearing light coloured button-down shirts and are turned towards the camera. They appear to be sitting under a tree. Behind them is a road and laundry is seen hung up to dry near a parked car.
Condolences for their deaths were shared on Facebook, with various independent users writing grievances such as, “We offer our deepest condolences and sympathy to our cousins…” and “We consider them martyrs in the eyes of God…” often accompanied by words of prayer.
Where sources identified the belligerent, all sources attributed the strike to the Israeli military.
The local time of the incident is unknown.
The victims were named as:
