In the days before September 26 2024, a family of five was reportedly killed in an alleged Israeli airstrike on the city of Nabatieh, Lebanon. The time of the incident and the specific weapon type used are not known.
The deceased were identified as parents Shadi Ali al-Tawbah and Tasneem al-Komi and their children, son Mohammed Shadi al-Tawbah and daughters Nour al-Huda Shadi al-Tawbah and Lynn Shadi al-Tawbah, according to Dara24, a Syrian news agency – which reported that the bodies of the entire family were identified in the hospital.
A source close to the family shared with Airwars that the deceased remained unidentified for days and were only identified on the 26th. It is unknown when and where they were actually killed. The source also added that the family was originally from the city of Nawa in Syria and their bodies were to be transferred there from Lebanon on the 27th. This assessment will be updated if more specific information emerges.
Multiple news agencies and social media users circulated a family photograph showing the five victims. The image showed Shadi Ali al-Tawbah, a man with short black hair, a faint beard, and a lean build, alongside Tasneem al-Komi, a woman wearing a black hijab, and their three young children.
Where sources identified belligerents, all sources attributed the bombing to the Israeli military.
