Airwars Assessment
At least three civilians were reported injured in alleged Israeli airstrikes in the town of Al-Ansar in Lebanon’s Baalbek-Hermel region on November 26, 2024.
A statement issued by the Public Health Emergency Operations Center of the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health stated that five people were wounded in Al-Ansar as a result of Israeli airstrikes.
All but one source referred to five injuries in Al-Ansar. All such sources were posted after 4 p.m. local time. One source, a post by Facebook account ‘Nabatieh, may God protect it’ was published at 1:06 p.m. local time, and referred to three injuries. It is unclear if the increase in the reported number of injuries indicates additional strikes in Al-Ansar, or that additional injured people were accounted for.
While the majority of sources named five injuries – all appearing to circulate a single account rather than contribute new information, the civilian harm status for this incident has been recorded as ‘fair’, and strike status ‘likely’, given that one source referred to three injuries – potentially indicating a later update to earlier reporting. When sources identified a belligerent, all referred to the Israeli military as responsible.
