At around 9:30 AM on September 28th, 2024, a Telegram page named Echo of Dahieh and multiple social media accounts reported that two individuals were allegedly killed and one injured in an attack in the Al-Wad neighborhood of Baalbek, located in the Bekaa region of Eastern Lebanon. The reports attributed the incident to an alleged Israeli strike.
Posting to their site, Al-Mayadeen reported on the strike on Al-Wad at 9:56 local time. With no other references to the time of the incident, ‘around 9:30 AM’ has been recorded as an approximation. This will be updated should additional information become available.
Though Airwars was unable to obtain further corroborating details, the Al-Mayadeen correspondent in Bekaa, RT Arabic correspondent, and the Echo of Dahieh page are discreet sources, all of whom reported “two martyrs and one injury” in Al-Wad. As such, the civilian harm status recorded for this incident is ‘fair’ and the strike status is ‘likely’, in accordance with Airwars’ methodology. All sources referred to Israeli forces as the party responsible for the alleged harm.
