On Thursday October 12th, 2023, at least one civilian was killed, and at least one was wounded in an alleged Israeli airstrike on the Othman family home in the al-Alami area of Jabalia camp, Gaza Strip.

Lower casualty estimates were provided by Nawa Press, F24, and Shehab Agency, all reporting on the death of one fatality in the bombing, as well as at least one injured civilian. A higher estimate was provided by Wafa News, which reported that the house, located next to the Kamal Adwan Hospital in the town of Beit Lahia, sheltered a “large number of displaced people from areas east of the North Gaza Governorate”, and that the bodies of two killed civilians and a number of wounded were recovered, while a number of others remained under the rubble. The house belonged to Salah Othman, according to Alkofiya TV, but it is not clear whether he was among the casualties.

Al Sahera and The Medical Services of Palestine Facebook page shared images of the incident and rescue efforts, with the latter including a video and stating that “Civil defense crews, medical services, and police dealt with the bombing of the Othman family home in northern Gaza, and there were martyrs and wounded.” Among the images and videos shared by the Medical Services Facebook account are images of a child and a woman who were likely among those injured in this strike.
