On the afternoon of Wednesday, March 4, 2026, a 13-year-old Palestinian boy named Omar Ziad al-Gharabli died from critical injuries he sustained as a result of an alleged Israeli bombing of Gaza City approximately three weeks prior to his death.
Multiple news sources, such as @refugeesps and @PalinfoAr, identified the 13-year-old victim as Omar Ziad al-Gharabli, attributing his cause of death to injuries sustained from an Israeli bombing in Gaza City. @refugeesps also posted a photo of a group of young men loading a body shrouded in a blanket onto the bed of a truck, with another shrouded body already placed next to it. A Facebook post by Hani Alshaer, a member of the press, identified Omar as a resident of the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood.
While the majority of news sources did not indicate when the bombing that caused Omar’s fatal injuries took place, Palestine Post cited local sources, which stated that the attack occurred three weeks prior to Omar’s death on March 4, 2026. Therefore a date range of February 11th (three weeks before) to March 4th has been recorded until further information is found.
A memorial Facebook post by Yahya Al-Gharabli, who identified himself as Omar’s cousin, noted that the 13-year-old child died after “suffering from burns for several days.” The post also identified Sheikh Ziad as the victim’s father. Yahya concluded his post with a prayer asking God to grant “patience to [Omar’s] parents and strengthen their hearts.”
Where sources identified a belligerent, all sources attributed the strikes to the Israeli military.
