Airwars Assessment
At approximately 8:20 a.m. on 6 July 2025, a fisherman was reported injured by an attack allegedly by Israeli forces off the coast of Deir al-Balah in the Gaza Strip.
Safa News was the first to report the incident. Subsequent social media posts, including one by Al-Quds on Facebook, reported further details of the incident, reporting that a missile had fallen into the sea off Deir al-Balah (with others specifying this as an airstrike), injuring a fisherman in the area who was later transferred to Al-Aqsa Hospital. However, no further details were provided by Safa News or other local sources regarding the identity of the injured fisherman.
Other local sources offered differing accounts of the incident. Al-Hasakah reported on Facebook that the injury occurred due to gunboat fire, while Rabhi Mohammed also reported on Facebook that the fisherman was injured after reportedly being “shot” by an Israeli boat.
Where sources identified a belligerent, all sources attributed the attack to the Israeli military.
