In a statement, the organization said: "The scenes of carnage emerging from the Jabalia refugee camp in the Gaza Strip following the airstrikes yesterday and today (Tuesday and Wednesday) are truly horrific." UNICEF also noted that while there is no estimate of the number of children killed in these attacks, "it appears that hundreds of people were killed and injured," including, according to initial reports, many minors. Earlier, Reuters, citing Hamas, reported that at least 195 people were killed and 777 others injured in the Israeli airstrikes on the Jabalia refugee camp in the Gaza Strip on Tuesday and Wednesday. The spokesperson added: "From the very first days of the unprecedented hostilities in the Gaza Strip, UNICEF has been clear about the need for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire and the flow of aid, and like many others, we have called for an end to the killing of children." He continued: "Our grave fears about the number of children killed—first in the dozens, then in the hundreds, and ultimately in the thousands—have been realized in just two weeks. The figures are horrifying. More than 3,450 children have reportedly been killed, and shockingly, this number is rising significantly every day." The Israeli occupation continues its aggression against the Gaza Strip for the 27th consecutive day, committing bloody massacres and tightening its siege on the Strip. Local media reported that the occupation committed a new massacre in the residential area between Al-Khulafa Al-Rashideen Square and Al-Hawja Street in the center of Jabalia refugee camp. Occupation aircraft bombed an entire residential block, burying its inhabitants alive, in conjunction with heavy artillery shelling, resulting in numerous martyrs and wounded. Meanwhile, civil defense teams are conducting search and rescue operations for wounded people under the rubble after a house belonging to the Anbar family in Jabalia camp, in the northern Gaza Strip, was targeted. Nineteen people have been reported killed so far.

وصف صندوق الأمم المتحدة للطفولة (يونيسف)، الغارات الإسرائيلية على مخيم جباليا للاجئين الفلسطنيين في قطاع غزة، بالمجزرة. وجاء في تعليق صدر عن المنظمة: "مشاهد المجزرة التي وردت من مخيم جباليا في قطاع غزة عقب الغارات أمس واليوم (الثلاثاء والأربعاء) مرعبة فعلاً". كما لاحظت اليونيسيف، رغم عدم وجود تقدير لعدد الأطفال الذين قتلوا خلال هذه الغارات، "يبدو أن مئات الأشخاص أصيبوا وقتلوا"، ومن بينهم، وفقاً للبيانات الأولية، الكثير من القاصرين. في وقت سابق، ذكرت وكالة رويترز نقلاً عن حركة حماس أن 195 شخصاً على الأقل قتلوا وأصيب 777 آخرون في الغارات الإسرائيلية على مخيم جباليا للاجئين في قطاع غزة يومي الثلاثاء والأربعاء. أضاف المتحدث: "منذ الأيام الأولى للأعمال العدائية غير المسبوقة في قطاع غزة، كانت يونيسف صريحة بشأن الحاجة إلى وقف فوري لإطلاق النار لأسباب إنسانية، وتدفّق المساعدات، ومثل كثيرين غيرنا، طالبنا بوقف قتل الأطفال". وتابع: "إنّ مخاوفنا الخطيرة بشأن أعداد الأطفال الذين قُتلوا بالعشرات، ثم المئات، وفي نهاية المطاف الآلاف، قد تحقّقت في أسبوعين فقط. الأرقام مروّعة. وبحسب ما ورد قُتل أكثر من 3.450 طفلاً، والمذهل أنّ هذا العدد يرتفع بشكل ملحوظ كل يوم". ويواصل الاحتلال الإسرائيلي عدوانه على قطاع غزة لليوم السابع والعشرين على التوالي، مرتكباً مجازر دامية، ومشدّداً حصاره على القطاع.  ونقلت وسائل إعلام محلية أنّ الاحتلال ارتكب مجزرة جديدة في الحي السكني الفاصل بين ساحة الخلفاء الراشدين وشارع الهوجا وسط مخيم جباليا، حيث قصفت طائرات الاحتلال مربّعاً سكنياً كاملاً على رؤوس ساكنيه بالتزامن مع قصف مدفعي كثيف، ما أدّى إلى وقوع العديد من الشهداء والجرحى. وتُجري طواقم الدفاع المدني، عمليات بحث عن جرحى تحت الأنقاض، في هذه الأثناء، بعد استهداف منزل يعود إلى عائلة "عنبر" في معسكر جباليا شمال قطاع غزة، فيما أُفيد عن ارتقاء 19 شخصاً حتى  الآن.

After our house was completely destroyed and my niece, Janine, was killed, my brother's family sought refuge in the house of our neighbors, Abu Nidal Anbar, along with many other neighbors whose homes had also been destroyed.
