On Tuesday, 7th November 2023, at least three civilians were injured and a number of people were killed when a series of alleged Israeli airstrikes hit the village of Izbet Abd Rabbo, north of the Gaza Strip. The exact number of casualties has not yet been reported and the victims have not been identified.

Several News agencies, including Shehab Agency and Alarabiya Palestine, reported on the incident, citing deaths and injuries as a consequence of an Israeli airstrike which hit the village of Izbet Abd Rabbo. A number of victims were reportedly taken to the Indonesian Hospital to be treated.

In a video shared by Shehab Agency on Twitter/X, a person is filming a group standing by an ambulance. Suddenly, there is a huge explosion from a nearby attack. The camera person turns to the left and runs down the street. In the distance, a large billow of smoke is apparent, rising behind a series of high-rise buildings – it is not clear whether one of the buildings has been hit. The comment reads, “The moment the [Israeli] aircraft [hit] the people of Izbet Abd Rabbo, north of Gaza, which resulted in martyrs and injuries.” The video was shared by several other news agencies and social media users.

Another video shared on Facebook by Alghad TV depicts the attack from a different angle. Behind the same series of high-rise buildings, a large plume of smoke builds, and a thick layer of smoke then starts to fill the air. The nearby area, from where the incident is being filmed, appears to be a busy residential area; several people move in and out the frame and gather to watch the incident unfold.

Info P Times reported that there were “a series of Israeli air strikes” that hit the village, wounding and killing a number of civilians.

Photos released by Shehab Agency and several other new sources and social media accounts appear to depict those who had been hit by the attack. In one photo, a young man – possibly a minor – is carried out on a stretcher and into an ambulance. His body is bloody, blackened and burnt. In another photo, a young man with blood on his side is carried in the arms of another, helped by a medical worker who holds up his arms. In the background, ambulance workers, medics and citizens rush to help the injured. The final photo depicted another man on the ground, beside an ambulance. He is surrounded by a small group who gesture toward him; the ground beneath him is spotted with blood. The comment read, “A group of citizens were targeted in the Izbet Abd Rabbo area, north of the Gaza Strip”.

Whilst many sources reported on the incident, the identities of the victims were not found among local sources.

Where sources identified a belligerent, all sources attributed the incident to Israeli forces.
