During the morning of October 10 2025, the Israeli army allegedly shot and killed a person in the Al-Iqlimiya area in Khan Younis, south of the Gaza Strip.
The name of the victim was reported as Mahmoud Ahmed Zaarab, also known as Abu Ahmad, a young man whose family and friends later took to social media to express their grief.
The Zaarab Family Union announced the passing of one of its members, praying to God to have mercy on him and grant him a place in Paradise.
Mosa Drgham also wrote a heartfelt message on Facebook to bid farewell to his nephew, who he considered as a supportive friend and lifelong companion, always smiling and with a cheerful spirit. He prayed for mercy for Mahmoud, asking God to grant patience to his parents and wife and expressed hopes that his suffering would be eased. The post also conveyed personal farewells and greetings to others who had died, including Raed, Muhammad, Hisham, and Ihab.
Mosa and many others shared a picture of the young guy by the beach, wearing a light blue polo shirt and a matching scarf, black trousers, and sandals. He appeared slim, smiling, and he is shown standing on a rock while posing for the camera.
His cousins, Mohammed Hamed and Abu Uday Hijazi, resorted to social media to say goodbye to him: “may we meet in Paradise” affirmed Mohammed, while Abu Uday repeated the solemn phrase: “And never think that those who have been killed in the cause of God are dead. Rather, they are alive with their Lord, receiving provision.” In addition, he expressed condolences to his wife Lina (Umm Ahmad).
Mohammad Hassan, a friend, and Aaid Shalabi, his father’s friend also expressed condolences to the family and conveyed prayers for mercy and patience, concluding with a religious expression of loss and acceptance.
The local time of the incident is unknown, however, Safa PS was the first source to report it at approximately 10:33 am, suggesting that it may have occurred earlier that morning.
