Airwars Assessment
On October 10, 2025, 63-year-old Nabil Abdul Hamid Farwana was killed in an alleged Israeli airstrike in the Khan Younis governorate.
Following news of the incident, friends and family took to social media to mourn the loss of the 63-year-old. Sharing Quaranic verses, mourners stated. “And never think that those who have been killed in the cause of God are dead. Rather, they are alive with their Lord, receiving provision.” Among the mourners, Ghalib Farwana Abu Luay, asked that “God have mercy on you, uncle, and grant you Paradise and the highest level of Heaven, God willing… God is sufficient for us, and He is the best disposer of affairs.”
Nabil’s name was found in the Genocide in Gaza (GiGaza) database, which stated that he was killed among “several other civilians”, putting the maximum killed at three.
Gigaza reported that Nabil was killed in Khan Younis. Similarly, a post shared by Jamal Awni Farwana connected Nabil to Khan Younis. The post also referred to the killing of a man named Muhannad Mamdouh Khader Farwana (Abu Bilal) – likely a relative of Nabil’s. However, the post refers to Muhannad as being connected to Gaza City, as does Muhannad’s GiGaza page. As such, Muhannad’s death has been recorded in a different incident (ISPT101025h). This will be updated should additional information become available.
Where sources identified a belligerent, all sources attributed the strike to Israeli forces. According to Genocide in Gaza, the strike(s) occurred without prior warning.
