On 11 October 2025, 62-year-old Nidal (Fadl) Eid Salmi Abu Halib (Abu Muhammad) was reportedly killed as a result of alleged Israeli quadcopter gunfire or bombing in the town of Al-Qarara to the north of Khan Younis, southern Gaza.
Multiple news sources such as Palestine Info, Al-Arab Qatar News, and Al-Hadath News reported the death of Mr. Abu Halib. Palestine Info, along with other sources reported his age as 62 at the time of his death and the majority of sources reported that he died as a result of gunshot wounds.
Al-Hadath News’ correspondent Osama al-Kahlout, more specifically reported that Mr. Abu Halib was killed as a result of gunfire from an Israeli quadcopter drone while walking near his home.
A neighbour of the Abu Halib family, Tawfeek Abd Elgafour, via his Facebook page sent condolences to the Abu Halib family for the loss of their son, Nidal, and reported that the quadcopter attack occurred while he was visiting the family home to inspect the situation. The Facebook post went on to urge others to stay away from the Al-Qarara area given the Israeli military’s continued activity in the area, saying it was a “dangerous situation.”
A post from Journalist Taysir Qaddihof included an image of Mr. Abu Halib sitting in an audience wearing a black polo and jeans.
According to Hazen Mazid on Facebook, Mr. Abu Halib was taken to Al-Aqsa Hospital in the aftermath of the shooting but did not survive. This attack occurred following the implementation of a ceasefire on 10 October 2025.
Where sources identified the belligerent, all sources attributed the strike to the Israeli military.

Reports of the incident mention the town of Al-Qarara (القرارة), for which the generic coordinates are: 31.371329, 34.335281. The generic coordinates provided by Airwars for Al-Qarara are outside the boundaries of the ‘Yellow Line’ officially published by the Israeli military on October 14, 2025. Due to limited satellite imagery and information available to Airwars, we were unable to verify the location further.
