On Thursday, June 12, 2025, at least one civilian was reportedly killed and a number of civilians were injured in an alleged Israeli strike on the gathering of people waiting for humanitarian aid at the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation aid distribution site near the Nabulsi roundabout, west of Gaza City.
Local Facebook user Talal Abu Hussein reported on the “targeting” of a “gatherings of citizens who were waiting for aid,” resulting in “one martyr and injuries.” The victim was identified by relatives as 37-year-old Amer Hassan Jad Allah al-Ghoul, described by family members as a polite and well-mannered young man who was killed “at the intersection of death” while trying to provide for his children.
Several relatives and friends posted tributes to Amer, recalling his character and kindness. His cousin, Tareq Abed al-Ghoul, mourned him as “the best husband, the most affectionate father,” while Samer M al-Ghoul prayed for his mercy and forgiveness. Other family members, including Adi Khaled and Sherif El Ghoul, described Amer as virtuous and well-loved in his community. Amer’s wife, Enas Æ Amer, shared an emotional farewell, remembering the joy he brought to her life, his care for her feelings, and expressing her grief at his passing.
The image of Amer, a middle-aged man with grey hair and a trimmed grey beard wearing a black hoodie, was shared by the sources.
Mohammad Sameer al-Ghoul was reported injured in the same incident. Relatives wished him a speedy recovery and prayed for his healing.
Amer’s name was matched with the Palestinian Ministry of Health (MoH) lists, which include national ID numbers. Since October 26, 2023, the MoH has released a number of lists, along with an additional list of medical professionals, which was released on September 17, 2024. Airwars is matching individuals to the first list where their name appeared. In regard to this incident, the name of the victim was matched to the tenth “Palestinian Ministry of Health List of Fatalities in Gaza”, which was released on July 16, 2025.
All sources that identified a belligerent attributed the strike to Israeli forces. The sources did not specify the nature of the attack.
