On Saturday, 14th February, 2026, it was reported that Rafiq Mustafa al-Masri, and his wife, Mona Fahmi al-Masri, were both injured from gunfire allegedly fired by the Israeli forces in Jabalia refugee camp in Northern Gaza.
A message relayed on social media by @PalinfoAr, Walid Abu Mashayekh, and Abu Mahmoud Al-Azaizeh Al-Mansoum stated that “two people were injured by gunfire from an Israeli military march in Jabalia camp, northern Gaza Strip.” According to Facebook users Bilal Musa and Hani Alshaer, the two injured were identified as Rafiq Mustafa al-Masri, 60, and his wife, Mona Fahmi al-Masri, 58, living in Beit Lahia. Rafiq reportedly sustained a foot injury whereas Mona was reportedly injured in the shoulder area. The injuries are said to have resulted from “stray bullets fired from Israeli military vehicles.” In a Facebook post, Hamla Kaddour claimed that “An elderly man was shot in the foot by Israeli occupation forces in the Al-Manshiya area of Beit Lahia.” The post included a picture of a bullet, likely recovered from the scene of the incident.
It can be inferred from the Facebook posts published by Malik al-Faqih and Hamla that the couple was transported to Al-Shifa Hospital to receive treatment following the incident. A number of statements labeled “urgent” were posted in the afternoon, with the earliest from Hani Alshaer at 15:48.
All sources attributed the attack to the Israeli forces.
