Shortly before 10:02 a.m. on October 15, 2025, a young man, Mohamed Sami Abdel-Hay Qwaider (31), was killed by an alleged Israeli drone strike on the Ma’an area, east of Khan Younis city in the southern Gaza Strip.
Twitter/X account @AJA_Egypt (https://x.com/AJA_Egypt) reported the death of a civilian in the Ma’an area at 10:02 a.m., marking the information as “urgent.” @ALnafethanews stated that Mohamed Sami Abdel-Hay Qwaider died as a result of shelling from an Israeli drone. Nasser Medical Complex also reported on the killing, making it likely that the victim was taken there.
The “Eastern Province Comprehensive” Facebook page indicated that the incident occurred during a march in the Ma’an area, east of Khan Yunis city. The website Genocide in Gaza (Gigaza.org) noted that a number of other people were also killed, although the exact number and their identities remain unknown, and additional casualties were not mentioned in other sources.
The Abu Jameh Family – Homeland and Diaspora Facebook page, along with its Youth Council, mourned the death of Mohamed, stating: “We ask God Almighty to accept him as a martyr in Paradise and to grant his family and loved ones patience and solace.” The post included an image of Mohamed wearing sunglasses and a green T-shirt with blue writing, seated and looking directly at the camera.
Additionally, Murad Fayyad shared a photo of Mohamed on Facebook, accompanied by a song mourning his death, writing: “May God have mercy on you, my relative Mohamed Sami Qwaider.”
Gigaza.org also stated that the attack on the Ma’an area in Khan Younis Governorate occurred “without warning or notice.”
Where sources identified a belligerent, all sources attributed the strike to the Israeli military.

Reports of the incident mention the Ma’an area (منطقة معن) in Khan Younis (خان يونس), for which the generic coordinates are: 31.330536, 34.317053. The generic coordinates provided by Airwars for location name are outside the boundaries of the ‘Yellow Line’ officially published by the Israeli military on October 14, 2025. Due to limited satellite imagery and information available to Airwars, we were unable to verify the location further.
