At least 30 members of the Qreiqeh family were killed and others, including a young girl, were wounded by alleged Israeli airstrikes on their family homes on Wadi Al-Arayes Street in Shujaiyya neighborhood, Gaza on March 18, 2025.

Tweets from @PalinfoAr initially reported “martyrs and injuries” from the bombing of homes belonging to the Qreiqeh family on Wadi Al-Arayes Street in Shujaiyya. @Sa7atPlBreaking reported “Dozens of martyrs, wounded and trapped under the rubble” following the bombing, along with a video showing six different bodies wrapped in white shrouds, and then a heavily damaged building reduced to rubble. While a post from Khalef Alqatia`a put the number of killed at 30, Fayez [Qreiqeh] reported about “more than 30 martyrs from my family, the Qreiqeh family” and Gaza 24 put the number killed at “more than 40 members of his [Qreiqeh] family”.

A post from “Palestine al-Majd” detailed that they had witnessed the strike on their neighbours, the Qreiqeh family, while they were preparing for the suhoor pre-dawn meal during Ramadan. The account also detailed that they had spoken to one of the men who was later killed after he had gone to town to buy fava beans and they had discussed making maqluba. According to the Sahat News correspondent, two homes belonging to the Qreiqeh family were hit and in a video posted by Alarabiya Palestine, 12 bodies remained under the rubble of the home at the time of reporting.

A Facebook post from Khalef Alqatia`a reported that “30 martyrs and missing” resulted from a “massacre targeting Bassam Qreiqeh’s house near Imad Aqel Mosque” in the Shujaiyya neighborhood in the morning. The post included the names of 25 people who had been killed: Ahmed Hamdan Qreiqeh (Abu Yahya), his son Hamdan Ahmed Qreiqeh, his daughter Aisha Ahmed Qreiqeh, his daughter 12-year-old Maram Ahmed Qreiqeh, his daughter Aya Ahmed Musbah Qreiqeh, Aya’s husband Rifaat Talal Musbah, Aya and Rifaat’s four daughters 11-year-old Nismah Rifaat Musbah, Hala Rifaat Musbah (child), Lama Rifaat Musbah (child), Tulin Rifaat Musbah (child) and son Mohammed Rifaat Musbah (child).

Mahmoud bilbol posted about the death of his colleague Ahmed Qreiqeh and included an image of the two men posing for a selfie.

Facebook page “Gaza Strip Palestine” posted images of Maram Qreiqeh before her death, a young girl pictured in a blue hijab smiling brightly, and from after her death, a graphic image, writing “For what sin was she killed??”

Cousin Nervana [Musbah] offered prayers for the loss of his relative Rifaat Musbah, his wife, and five children who were all killed. Abood [Musbah] mourned his uncle Rifaat and his family, along with images of Rifaat, a man pictured wearing a tan zip-up sweater, and his children, his young daughters pictured smiling and waving at the camera and his toddler son pictured fashionably wearing a red jacket and matching hat.

The *Tabasum* School (Al-Abbas) offered condolences to the Musbah family on the loss of their children, who were students of the school, and included a video of the smiling and energetic children holding their artwork, receiving stickers, and holding up their classwork.

Ahmed’s nephews Montaser Bassam Qreiqeh and 28-year-old Durgham Bassam Qreiqeh and nieces Khadija Bassam Qreiqeh and Kholoud Bassam Qreiqeh (Umm Hassan Hamid) were also killed, along with Durgham’s wife Aya Shukri al-Qudra, Khadija’s children – daughters 13-year-old Sundus Hadi al-Deeb and 12-year-old Mayar Hadi al-Deeb and son 10-year-old Islam Hadi al-Deeb – and Kholoud’s children – sons five-year-old Aziz Karam Hamid, nine-year-old Hassan Karam Hamid, and seven-year-old Mohammed Karam Hamid.

Mohammad kh al-basoos mourned “the guide, the well-mannered, the artist” Durgham Qreiqeh, who had just gotten married according to Gaza 24, and included an image of Durgham and another man posing in front of artwork. In a video posted by Ismail matar, Durgham can be seen playing a game with a group of children in an schoolyard, and a post by “Qadeyya” referred to Durgham as “Van Gogh’s grandson”. Mohammed alhaj described seeing him just two days before his death in the Al-Rimal neighborhood and included the last photo that he had with Durgham, which was taken at an art library in Rafah, while many others posted images of Durgham’s beautiful artwork, paintings, sketches, and murals. The Butterfly Trace Collective identified Durgham as a volunteer for their organization which helps to “bring a displaced person’s dictionary to light”, adding that his legacy was his “Cinema in Camp” project for children. A post from “Palestinian Creators Official Page” added that “In the coming days, he was scheduled to launch a series of mobile cinema screenings for children in displacement centers” and Arwa abu hashhash wrote that in July 2024, Durgham had “led the initiative “Children’s Pools”, where he provided plastic pools to displaced children in the Khan Younis and Al-Qarara camps”.

Tamer jillo quoted a Facebook post that Durgham had written a month ago: “After 15 months of displacement, I returned to Gaza to find myself facing an unbelievable and extremely difficult reality. My home and studio were completely destroyed by the Israeli army, and all the artwork I was preparing for my first exhibition, “Until the Chair Grows Wings,” disappeared under the rubble. These works were more than just paintings; they were a part of my soul, part of my dreams that I always dreamed of sharing with the viewer. What happened was not merely the destruction of things; it was an attempt to erase memory, culture, and humanity. But as the saying goes, “Hope is only killed by the death of the soul,” and art is my soul that will never die.” According to Arwa abu hashhash, Durgham’s final post of Facebook was “If we are not destined to continue living, then preserve our actions, our names, and our images, and write on our graves in bold letters: ‘Here lie those who loved life but could not find a way to it.’”

A Facebook post from the Hamid family announced the death of the brothers Hassan, Mohammed, and Aziz, mentioning that they were the grandchildren of Hassan Tawiq Hamid, and their mother, along with images of the young boys – Aziz smiling at the camera with his hand on his hip wearing a red sweater, Mohammed wearing a graduation outfit and holding a trophy, and Hassan wearing a keffiyah posing with a peace sign.

Zakaria f deeb offered patience for the tragic loss experienced by his cousin Hadi Muhammad al-Deeb when his wife, his son Islam, and his daughters Sundus and Mayer were killed, described as “the loves of my heart”, along with an image of two young girls smiling and a young boy wearing sunglasses and a jean jacket.

The list published by Khalef Alqatia`a included 66-year-old Hajja Reda Obaid Qreiqeh (Umm Sufyan), her son 30-year-old Yousef Karim Qreiqeh, and her granddaughter (daughter of Yousef) one-year-old Nour Yousef Karim Qreiqeh. Multiple posts on March 22nd, four days after the strike, reported that Karim Muhammad Qreiqeh died of his wounded sustained in the bombing in Shujaiyya, joining his wife Reda, son Yousef, and granddaughter Nour in tragedy.

According to a post from Qadiyya, Karim was the brother of journalist Muhammad Qreiqeh, and the post included an image of Karim, a middle-aged man dressed in a plaid button-up shirt and relaxing on a sofa. An image shared by Ramallah news and others shows Muhammad Qreiqeh carrying the body of his brother Karim during his funeral.

Adham Qreiqeh reminisced on memories of Reda, saying “I will miss hearing your voice” along with an image of Reda, a middle-aged woman pictured smiling in a black hijab and shirt, and Tata Ahmad described her sister Reda as kind-hearted, virtuous, and generous.

A post from Hamood Hejazi offered condolences to his friend Amjad Karim Qreiqeh on the death of his mother (Reda), his brother (Yousef), and his niece (Nour). According to Hamood, Yousef had been involved in serving breakfast to those fasting for Ramadan, along with a video of Yousef handing out bags of food to mostly children and the elderly – the video was dated March 17, 2025, a day before he was killed, and included a paper identifying it as “bread distribution”. In a post by Mhmoud m kordia, Yousef is referred to as a “good-natured friend”. Salman Rafiq [Qreiqeh] mourned the “kind-hearted, unknown soldier” who “never grew weary of serving the people, even in the most difficult circumstances.” In the context of Yousef’s service to people, the reference to being a soldier seems to be in relation to this, and has not been taken to indicate militant status. Should more information come to light, Airwars will update this assessment.

A woman named Dalia Qreiqeh was also included in the list by Khalef Alqatia`a of those killed in the bombing. A post from Deema Majed asked for Ramadan prayers for the injured Janin Qreiqeh, daughter of Dalia and the “sole survivor” of the “Qreiqeh massacre”. The post contained a video of a young Janin being treated for her wounds – she has an IV attached to one arm, a bandage on her head, bruises and stitches all over her face, and she is crying from the pain.

Wafa News Agency posted a video of men and children sorting through what is identified as “the homes of the Qreiqeh family” in an area completely reduced to rubble and surrounded by other apartments and homes which also sustained significant damage. Household belongings and furniture like mattresses, baskets, and linens, can be seen scattered among the rubble and at least one body is seen being carried away from the rubble.

Where possible, names were matched to the Palestinian Ministry of Health list of fatalities released on March 24, 2025 and relating to the period between October 7, 2023 and March 23, 2025. Additional ages were also found in the “Genocide in Gaza” database of “martyrs” and lists of fatalities shared online by Shireen Monitor, an organisation which has a list of “Martyrs of Palestine” from 2023 onward.”
