On the morning of March 18th, 2025, at least two civilians were reportedly killed in an alleged Israeli airstrike on a home in al-Shati camp, located in the northern Gaza Strip.
The victims were identified as 51-year-old Saeed Mohammed Abdel Fattah al-Khalidi and his daughter, 24-year-old Shaimaa Saeed Mohammed al-Khalidi. According to posts by multiple family members, including Suhaib al-Khalidi, Oraieeb Albohiese, and Saleh al-Khalidi, the father and daughter were killed during what was described as a “Zionist bombing” in Gaza. Suhaib, who identified himself as Saeed’s younger brother, specified that the strike occurred in the morning.
Where possible, the names of the victims have been matched with the Palestinian Ministry of Health (MoH) lists, which include national ID numbers. Since October 26, 2023, the MoH has released a number of lists, along with an additional list of medical professionals, which was released on September 17, 2024. Airwars is matching individuals to the first list where their name appeared. In regard to this incident, names are matched to the ninth “Palestinian Ministry of Health List of Fatalities in Gaza”, which was released on June 23, 2025.
Other family members, such as Khaled Saree, A.narmeen Al-Khalidi, Tariq Al-Khalidi, and Um Elias, mourned the deaths of both Saeed and Shaimaa, often referring to them as “martyrs” and invoking prayers for their acceptance into “the highest paradise.” In one of the images shared by Mohammed alkhaldi on Facebook, the late Saeed is seen as a middle-aged man, wearing glasses and dressed in a beige polo shirt and beige trousers. He is sitting in a chair, along with a young man, possibly his son or his nephew. In another image, he is seen standing, surrounded by two young men.
Shaimaa’s friend, Facebook user Rahab Hatem, remembered her as the “best loyal friend.” Her loss was unexpected, as Rahab had “never expected this day to come and for you to leave.” The two had been planning to “work together and go out together.” “I didn’t know that when you insisted that I come to you, that it would be the last time I would see you.”
Multiple sources indicated that Israeli forces were responsible for the strike.
According to the website “Genocide in Gaza”, the strike happened without prior warning.
