On Saturday, February 21st, 2026, three people were reportedly injured as a result of gunfire allegedly fired by the Israeli forces near the Shuja’iyya neighborhood junction, east of Gaza City. One of the individuals injured has been identified as Ahmed Hani al-Sharbasi.
Zoom Media Backup along multiple sources reported that “three Palestinians were wounded by Israeli…forces near the Shuja’iyya neighborhood junction, east of Gaza City.” Al Jazeera further specified that the incident took place “at the end of Omar Al-Mukhtar Street.”
In a Facebook post, Mohammed Abu Ali revealed that his brother, Ahmed Hani al-Sharbasi also known as “Abu Al-Qasim,” was among the injured. The post included a picture of Ahmed smiling while holding a child on his lap, possibly his son, taken before his injury.
The earliest incident reports issued by @PalinfoAr and New Life – alhaya, at 9:40 and 9:42 a.m. respectively, suggest that the events very likely occurred sometime before in the morning.
All sources attributed the attack to the Israeli forces.

Reports of the incident mention the vicinity of the Al-Shujaiya Junction (مفترق الشجاعية) in the Al-Shujaiya neighbourhood (الشجاعي) in Gaza City (مدينة غزة), for which the generic coordinates are: 31.502222, 34.467778. Due to limited satellite imagery and information available to Airwars, we were unable to verify the location further.
