Last Updated: April 16, 2025

On Wednesday, July 24, 2024, alleged Israeli quadcopter drones injured and killed civilians as they attempted to retrieve dead bodies at the Bani Suhaila junctions in east Khan Younis.

Initial reports of the event came in the evening after 5pm when Al Arabiya TV took to Twitter/X to share the news about the incident reporting “Wounded by Israeli drone fire targeting citizens trying to retrieve martyrs at Bani Suhaila junction east of Khan Yunis.” Similar reports came from other news outlets such as Shehab News Agency, Palestine Network Dialogue, Al Arabiya TV, and the Palestinian Media Centre on Twitter/X. Additionally, Voice of Palestine Radio posted an image on Facebook, showing an injured male civilian as the result of the alleged strike.

Only one source, a Facebook post from Walid Abu Mashaykhah, reported “martyrs and wounded” from the drone attack. No other information has been found as to the number of victims and their identities.

Where sources identified the belligerents, all sources attributed the strike to the Israeli military.
