At around midnight, on Thursday, September 26, 2024, an Israeli artillery shell allegedly hit the Nuseirat Girls School in the New Camp area northwest of Nuseirat Refugee Camp, injuring two people.
New Press first reported the incident via its X (formerly Twitter) account @NewpressPs, highlighting that an artillery shell had struck the school, which was being used as a refuge for displaced people at the time. Facebook user Shabkat Al Khamsa llanba’a claimed that “two shells” were fired, and The Palestine Chronicle specified that the shells struck one of the classrooms of the school. The source also mentioned that the alleged attack had left “injuries”, without giving a specific number.
The Palestinian Press Agency later reported that two people were injured, but did not provide any details about the victims.
Where sources identified the belligerent, all sources attributed the strikes to Israeli forces.
The incident occured around midnight.

Reports of the incident mention the vicinity of the Nuseirat Girls School (مدرسة النصيرات الاعدادية للبنات) in the Al Nuseirat camp (مخيم النصيرات), for which the generic coordinates are: 31.446667, 34.393056. Due to limited satellite imagery and information available to Airwars, we were unable to verify the location further.
