On Saturday, 28 March 2026, at least one civilian was reportedly injured when Israeli forces opened fire on civilian homes in the Al-Zaytoun neighbourhood, east of Gaza City.

Several local sources reported that a Palestinian civilian was wounded by Israeli gunfire in the neighbourhood, while other reports referred more generally to injuries among civilians following gunfire directed at residential homes. Photographs of an injured man being placed on a stretcher were shared by Walid Abu Mashayekh and Hamla Kaddour. In one, a child grips the wounded man’s hand.

Where sources identified the belligerent, all sources attributed the attack to the Israeli military.
