A 15-year-old boy, Muqbil Muhammad Muqbil Barabakh, was killed by alleged Israeli gunfire from a tank while trying to obtain a food parcel at a humanitarian aid distribution point near the Bani Suhaila roundabout east of Khan Younis in the Gaza Strip on Sunday, March 29, 2026.
According to Al Jazeera (@ajmubasheer) on Twitter/X, the boy was killed while trying to receive a food parcel from the World Food Programme’s aid distribution point at the Bani Suheila roundabout for his family. A video posted showed a white shroud with the boy’s body being carried out by a group of young men and his relatives, women and children, crying bitterly and leaning on his shroud.
One of the eyewitnesses, a middle-aged man, spoke to the correspondent and described the whereabouts of Muqbil’s death: “At the yellow line near Salah al-Din, he took the ration card on his way home. The tank started firing. […] He didn’t come with a bag of flour, but rather shrouded.”
WAFA News Agency posted a video showing Muqbil lying on a hospital bed, and a doctor who listened to his heartbeat and pronounced his death. Afterwards, his body was carried on a red stretcher. One of the men present at the hospital said: ”He was going to get a coupon. He was shot directly from the tank and shelled. They shot him in the head. He was going to get a ration card for his father. Six bullets in his chest. By God, he was going to get a bag of flour. He was shot directly by a sniper at the Bani Suheila roundabout. What truce are you talking about? These are war crimes.”
Bassam Barbuq mourned the death of Muqbil, his cousin, on Facebook, adding his image in a long-sleeved black hoodie.
On Facebook, Palestine TV shared images of an emotional farewell to Muqbil – men and women were crying over his body, lying on a stretcher.
Where sources identified the belligerent, all sources attributed the strike to the Israeli military.
