On March 27, 2026, 16 people were injured in an alleged U.S. and/or Israeli airstrike on one of the empty warehouse of the Khuzestan Steel Company in Khuzestan Province, Iran. The names of the injured were not found among sources.
On the evening of March 27, Mehr News cited the Khuzestan Steel Company, which reported “a number of employees of this company’s production line were injured following brutal attacks by the American [Israeli] enemy.” Earlier that day, Twitter/X user @bentzionmacales posted that “reports from Iran suggest that all three of Iran’s largest steel production plants were struck in a coordinated targeted strikes” and shared aerial photographs of three damaged factories: Esfahan Steel Plant, Ahvaz Khuzestan Steel Plant and Mobarakeh Steel Plant.
In a somewhat contradictory article, Asr News quoted the deputy security officer of the Khuzestan governor’s office as saying that “moments ago, American and Israeli warplanes brutally attacked Khuzestan Steel, but there were no casualties or injuries,” yet the article went on to quote the same person in announcing “an airstrike on one of the empty warehouses of Khuzestan Steel Company and […] 16 people were injured due to the blast wave and superficial injuries as a result of this attack.” IRNA reported that “16 people suffered from the blast wave and superficial injuries,” and “the injured were treated and discharged on an outpatient basis at the Foolad Clinic.” It is unclear if the casualty numbers were later updated or the casualties occurred as a result from a later strike on the same day. This incident will be updated should additional information be found.
Where sources identified the belligerent, all sources attributed the incident to the Israeli and/or US military.
