Airwars assessment
One civilian was killed (in this incident or in Tardin) and up to six civilians, including a woman and child, were wounded in alleged Russian airstrikes on al-Kendeh on May 12, 2021.
Syrian Observatory for Human Rights and the Syrian Civil Defense both reported that five civilians, including a child, were injured in Russian airstrikes on al-Kendeh village in western Idlib and Tardin area in northern Latakia. However, neither source differentiated whether the civilians were killed in which location. Zaman Al Wasl also mentioned those injured in both areas, referring to them as ” four shepherds”.
@thiqanewsagency identified “one person was killed and five others, including a girl, were injured” and did not separate whether the killed and injured were in al-Kendeh or Tardin.
A tweet from @IbnAlarabi15 put the civilian injuries in al-Kendeh at six, tweeting “six civilians, including children and women, were injured in Russian air strikes targeting the vicinity of the village of #Al-Kinda.”
All sources blamed the airstrikes on Russia.
The incident occured in the evening.
