At least one civilian was killed and 10 others were wounded in alleged Russian or regime airstrikes and artillery strikes on Kafrlata on June 12, 2021.
According to Syrian Network for Human Rights, “on June 12, a shell fired by Syrian regime artillery forces exploded near a house in Kafr Lata village in the south Ariha city in the southern suburbs of Idlib governorate, injuring several civilians. As other families rushed to the scene to treat the injured, the artillery forces shelled the site again, killing one civilian, named as Sanad Ali Haj Yousef, and injuring approximately ten others.” @syr_television added that the civilian killed was a “displaced person”.
@OGNreports tweeted that “one civilian has been killed and 10 others wounded in the village of Kafr Lata”. Syrian Civil Defense also reported that one civilian was killed, adding that 10 others were wounded “including two children this morning, Saturday, June 12, as a result of artillery shelling by the regime forces”.
The majority of other sources also identified 10 civilians as being injured. However, @rdwanalshhwan reported the low number that four civilians were wounded and Nedaa post gave the high number of 11 civilians injured.
Shaam News added that among those injured were “serious cases”.
Jesr Press reported that “local sources said that a Russian “Krassenbul” missile targeted a civilian car in the town of Kafr Lata”.
Sources were conflicted as to whether the regime or Russia was responsible.
