Last Updated: December 15, 2024

Between one and two civilians, including a child, were injured in alleged Russian and regime artillery shelling of the town of Majdlaya on September 27, 2021.

Syrian Civil Defense reported that at least one civilian, a child, was injured in shelling of the town of Majdlaya and the child was taken to the hospital for treatment.

A tweet from @VOSyria_ identified two civilians as being injured in the strikes. Other sources also mention “several civilian casualties” but do not provide a specific number.

@farzat1711 pointed out that residential neighborhoods in the center of Majdalaya were  bombarded during this incident.

Sources were conflicted as to who was responsible for the strikes, with @jisrtv blaming the regime while @thawrat111 attributed the strikes to Russia.
