Airwars assessment
On Thursday, October 12th, 2023, a 39 year-old-man was killed and a number of civilians were injured due to an alleged artillery attack conducted by the Russian military and/or the Syrian regime in the village of Kafar Ammad [Kafr Amma/Kafr Amah/Kafar’ama] in the western countryside of Aleppo, Syria. Reportedly, a 39-year old man named Izz Al Din Badet [Izzedin Badit] died as a result of heavy artillery strikes with rocket launchers.
At 3:13 PM, Twitter/X user Macromediacenter (@MMCSYR) reported about death of a man and injury of others, posting a picture showing the destroyed wall of a building. Aleppo Today correspondent and Syrian press agency also reported on the man’s death. Facebook user DCRN photograph shared pictures of the aftermath of the alleged shelling, portraying a broken down stone wall and a blood splatter covering a paved road and extending to the dried up grass.
Wissam Abo al Zain reported on Facebook: “Continuous shooting on the axis of Al-Qasr Al-Watasa, Kafr Ta’al, and Kafar’ama. A martyr in Kafr Amma now”. The user exemplified the information with a picture of a seemingly dead man lying on a hospital bed with his right arm and left leg covered in blood. Rashid Al Othamn shared a photo of the dead man’s ID confirming his identity and age.
Sources were conflicted on whether the Russian military or the Syrian regime forces was responsible for the attack.
