According to the Syrian Network for Human Rights, Russian fixed-wing aircraft “bombarded several missiles” at the water station. Civil defense teams were called in to extinguish a fire that broke out in bags of hay which caught alight as a result of the bombing. Syrian Civil Defense shared the images of its staff members extinguishing the fire as well as the images showing the destroyed station. Significant damage to the station building was also reported by the Al Furat news agency.
According to local sources, this was the second bombing of the station, with a previous strike being noted on August 22, 2023.
Where sources identified the belligerent, all sources attributed the strike to the Russian military.
The incident occured at approximately 11:47 am local time.
