Airwars assessment
On the evening of Sunday, 11th August 2024, a civilian was reportedly injured by a bombardment allegedly perpetrated by the Syrian regime’s forces and/or Iranian military and/or Russian military on the Atarib-Abzmo road in the western countryside of the Aleppo governorate in Syria.
A Twitter/X post by the Syrian Civil Defence included photos of the bombardment craters on the countryside near a grove of olive trees. The tweet stated that a civilian was injured in the foot and the strike was an artillery bombardment by the Syrian regime’s forces. Facebook posts by Sana, Abdalla, Shabka, and Markaz corroborated the Syrian Civil Defence’s claim that the Assad regime was responsible for the artillery strikes.
Other sources, including the Damascus Post, alleged that the strike was caused by the Russian and Iranian military. A Facebook post by the media outlet Almohrar News also concurred on this allegation.
The incident occured in the evening.
