Airwars assessment
On Friday, 29 November 2024, an airstrike hit the village of Sarja in the Idlib governorate of Syria. The attack, attributed to Russian military and/or Syrian regime forces, reportedly injured four civilians, including a child.
Initial information about the strike was published on X/Twitter by @SyriaCivilDefe, with an initial toll of four civilians injured, including one child. Further information emerged the following day, with a post from the Syrian Network for Human Rights reporting 11 civilians injured, including seven children, in the joint attacks on the villages of Sarja and Farika (covered in another incident). No further details were given about the civilians involved in the attack.
The same source also shared the only available image of the site of the attack, which was taken at night and showed blood in front of a damaged building with a collapsed wall.
Where sources identified the belligerent, some sources attributed the strike to the Syrian regime forces and Russian military, while others – solely to the Syrian regime.
The local time of the incident is unknown.
