Between three and nine non-combatants died and dozens more were injured in an airstrike on a bus or cars carrying civilians on the road between Khan Tuman town and the Al Ramoseh neighbourhood of Aleppo city, local media reported. All but one source attributed the event to Russia.
The Syrian Network for Human Rights said that three people were killed in a Russian strike. However, most other sources put the death toll at nine. According to multiple sources, bodies were roasted inside the cars.
According to Syria News Desk, “nine civilians were killed in the town of Khan Tuman, controlled by the opposition, in the south countryside of Aleppo, at dawn today [Aug 19th], as a result of Russian warplanes targeting a bus that was travelling from the eastern neighbourhoods of Aleppo towards the countryside, across the Ramouseh road. The opposition took control of the road about two weeks ago .”
But one source, Zamanalwasl, said that “a truck” was targeted by the regime, resulting in nine civilian fatalities.
Halab Today published footage showing burnt out cars along the road. LCCSY reported that the destruction was caused by a vacuum missile.
