Between six and nine civilians, including up to four women and up to five children, were killed in alleged Russian and Syrian regime airstrikes in Houmouriya town, Damascus, according to sources on the ground.

The numbers of civilians reported wounded varied from 18 to 24.

LCCSY reported that “dozens of civilians were injured as the result of a preliminary result of shelling with guided missiles high explosives on houses in the town of Hamouriya”.

The area hit was reportedly made up of civilians and didn’t have any known rebel groups. According to Orient News, the victims of the airstrikes were all members of the same family and also included the father.

Graphic images posted by @aldemashqee and @YHoumms show young children being treated for serious wounds from the airstrikes. In addition, @salqin posted very graphic images of the bodies of the children that were killed.

Various news sources provided conflicting accounts of who was responsible for the airstrikes – Orient News and Syrian Network 4 Human Rights accused the Syrian regime forces,while Local Coordination Committee of Syria identified Russian planes as the culprits.
