Airwars assessment
Up to five civilians were killed and between 12-15 injured in an airstrike on Masaken al Ferdos, Aleppo according to local media – though it was unclear whether the Russia or Assad regime were responsible.
A “massacre” took place in Al Ferdos as the neighbourhood was struck by rocket-propelled grenades, according to Enab Beladi News. The source reported that “five martyrs, including women and children, were killed and more than 12 injured.”
Shahba Press added that “a number of rockets fired at the residential buildings inside the neighbourhood, causing extensive destruction inside”.
Syrian Network for Human Rights reported that the victims “died in Russian shelling on Masaken Al Ferdos”. The attribution of blame to Russia was also corroborated by other sources including, Syria News Desk, HNN and Step News Agency.
However, other sources put responsibility for the event on the regime forces. One source, RFS North, reported “regime forces committed a massacre… the fall of five martyrs and 15 injured civilians.”
The local time of the incident is unknown.
