Up to 17 civilians, including four children and six women, were killed along with dozens of wounded, local media reported after Douma, Damascus, was subject to “intensive shelling” from both the air and the ground, though apportion of blame was unclear.

The Syrian Civil Defence, who put the death toll at 17, reported how it was the “result of 16 air raids and renewed artillery shelling more than ten residential neighborhoods in the city.”

Al-Jazeera reported that Douma was “once again bombarded with Napalm” as well as ground-launched artillery shelling.

The death toll spanned from 10 to 17. The lowest was reported by WesalTV, though that was merely its “initial” estimates.  Most reported between 15 and 17 civilian deaths.

According to the Syrian Network for Human Rights, who reported “at least” 15 fatalities,  four children and six women were among the killed.

Douma Revolution identified one male fatality by name and picture.

Reportedly, the incident left dozens of civilians wounded. According to Moaz al-Shamy, most were children and women.

While sources such as al-Jazeera and Moaz al-Shamy blamed the Syrian regime, Russian culpability cannot be ruled out as Step News Agency and SN4HR pointed to a shared Russia/Assad responsibility.
