Airwars assessment

Nine or more civilians – mainly women and children – were killed and dozens were wounded in air and artillery strikes on Mesraba, local media reported. Sources blamed both Russia and the Syrian regime for the raids on the vicinity.

Sources reported that there were as many as 27 barrel bombs, as well as 18 airstrikes and over 150 artillery and mortar shells, leaving nine dead.

@SiegeWatch tweeted that “A group of five government helicopters today [March 9th] flew together, dropping at least a dozen barrel bombs on the people of Misraba, nine civilians were killed.”

Photographs show extensive damage to the residential vicinity.

Baladi said that the strikes occurred in the evening.

Graphic images of two child fatalities were published by several sources.
