At least two civilians including a woman were killed, including one member of the Syrian Civil Defence, and three or more wounded in airstrikes on Zamalka, local media reported. Sources attributed the blame to both Russia and the Syrian regime.

According to media, the planes struck an ambulance killing a civil defence volunteer and injuring three others.

According to @syrianscene, “Many civilians were injured by the targeting of Assad forces with three air strikes on residential neighbourhoods in the city of Zamalka”.

On March 13th, the Smart News Agency said: “Activists documented the deaths of more than 50 civilians, including children and women yesterday [March 12th], as a result of the bombing by the regime and Russia on a number of cities and towns of the eastern province of the besieged [Damascus]. This brought the death toll from attack by the regime and its allies to 1,100 people since mid-February, according to local organisations.”

ZamanAlwasl added that “Warplanes shelled the towns and villages of Ein Tirma, Zemlaka and Harasta. The latter was bombed by warplane during six raids. More than 40 bombs were also recorded.”

There were reports of cluster bombs, barrel bombs, and phosphorus rockets used in attacks on Zamalka.
