Airwars assessment
Up to eight civilians including five children and three women were reported killed and several others injured in alleged Russian forces or Syrian regime airstrikes on Bsanqoul village in Idlib, Syria on March 31st, 2018 according to local sources.
Shaam Network said that Russian warplanes targeted the town of Bsanqoul with several missiles that hit the homes of civilians leading to a massacre of a family of five, three children and two women,in addition to a number wounded.
Initially, the Syrian Civil Defense said that “the girl Hala Mohammad Baidaq was killed, along with her sister Jana and her mother, Nour Rashed Baidaq, by a missile from a warplane believed to be Russian in the east of Bsanqoul village in Idlib governorate western suburbs, causing a massacre, on March 31st.”
Later, the Syrian Civil Defense said its teams worked to retrieve three women and five martyr children and to rescue others injured after “brutal raids on civilian homes in the town of Bsanqoul”. Shaam Network said that five of the victims (three children and two women) belong to the same family.
Abo Ibrahim Ta’ta’ mentioned five of the victims on his FB page. They are: Zina Musa Sajnawi, Jana Muhammad Baydak (child), Hala Muhammad Baydak (child), Noor Rashid Baydak and Muhammad Hamid Abdul Razzaq (infant). It’s worth to mention that the same source mentioned Nour Rashid Baydak and Hala Rashid Baydak as victims in another airstrike (see incident R3151).
@HalabTodayTV put the death toll at eight and reported that “The death toll from the Russian airstrike on the village of Basnakul in the southern Idlib countryside has risen to eight martyrs, five children and three women.”

Reports of the incident mention the village of Bsanqoul (بسنقول), for which the generic coordinates are: 35.806667, 36.496667. Due to limited satellite imagery and information available to Airwars, we were unable to verify the location further.
