Airwars assessment
One civilian was killed in an airstrike on Abtaa, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights – though it is unclear whether Assad regime or Russian forces were responsible.
The Observatory reported that regime forces bombed the town of Abtaa in the northern countryside of Dara’a, and that this was followed by raids by warplanes “believed to be Russian on areas in the town“. It said one person died and others were wounded.
VDC later named Khalil Deifallah Abo Kanoun (pictured) as later dying in Jordan from wounds sustained in the attack, though blamed the regime.
The local time of the incident is unknown.

Reports of the incident mention the village of Abtaa (ابطع), for which the generic coordinates are: 32.79283, 36.15175. Due to limited satellite imagery and information available to Airwars, we were unable to verify the location further.
