One woman was killed and two others, including a child, were injured in alleged Russian or Syrian regime airstrikes on Kansafra on May 7th, according to local media. Several schools were reportedly targeted
@HalabToday reported that “one woman was killed and others were injured, including children, when an explosive barrel was detonated on the town of Kansafra in the southern Idlib countryside.”
The Local Coordination Committees of Syria tweeted: “Wounded civilians [after the] targeting by Russian occupation aviation town #Kansafra in Jabal Al Zawiya south of Idlib.”
Local activists told Smart News Agency that a man and woman had been injured in Russian airstrikes on the town.
The Syrian Human Rights Network reported that three schools were bombed in Russian airstrikes: the “rural school”, the “junior high school” and the “agricultural secondary school”. According to MENA Monitor, one of the raids targeted a medical institute and high school for girls in the town, leading both facilities to be out of service. @SyriaCivilDefe wrote that a new school had been destroyed.
@alaaaldin455cdf tweeted that “the local council in the village of Kansafra declares that the village is damaged after more than 48 airstrikes.”
While most sources blamed Russia for the airstrikes, a few sources, such as Orient News, blamed the Syrian regime.
