Airwars assessment
At least one civilian was killed in alleged Russian or Syrian regime airstrikes on Sheikh Dames on June 1st, 2019, according to local sources. Up to four others, including a child, were reportedly injured.
@ShahbaPress reported “a martyr and four wounded civilians, including a child, in airstrikes on Sheikh Damis village near the city of Khan Sheikhoun, south of #Idlib.”
While the Local Coordination Committee for Syria stated that one civilian was killed and three injured from the same family, Shaam News reported “two martyrs” as a result of the airstrike.
Mohammed Al Saloum identified the victim as Fadi Muhammad Khair Al Hussein, a protection officer at the Sheikh Dams School.
Both Russia and the Syrian regime were named as the active belligerents by Shaam News, while the Local Coordination Committee for Syria named only the Syrian regime, and Syria Civil Defense did not positively attribute blame for the airstrike.
