Airwars assessment
Up to three civilians were killed when Syrian and Russian airstrikes allegedly struck the village of Kansafra on June 19th. Syrian Civil Defense forces who were present at the scene reported that missiles struck the village in the evening, killing thee civilians including a pregnant woman and wounding 14 others of whom five were women and the other five children.
Step News claimed two women and a child were killed. According to the Syrian Network for Human Rights, the child was an unborn baby. Smart News did not count the unborn baby among the victims and reported that two civilians were killed, including a woman and a girl. However, one of the sources named one of the victims as a man.
Smart News initially claimed two children were wounded in the attack but in a later post said a total of eight others were wounded, including a woman and three children. The sources added a series of photographs that can be viewed on their website but are not available for distribution.
A few days after the incident, Syrian Network for Human Rights added that one of those wounded was Mershed Haj Ibrahim, a media activist from Kansafara village, who was injured as in his chest and feet as “Syrian regime fixed- wing warplanes fired missiles on his house.”
