Two civilians, a man and a woman, were killed and others were wounded in alleged Russian or regime cluster bombings of Kafr Nabl, south of Idlib, on September 13, 2019.

@baladinetwork identified “Two martyrs were killed by a missile strike by the regime forces on the city of Kafr Nabl in the southern countryside of Idlib” and @jisrtv added that they were a man and a woman.

A tweet from @anasanas84 named the civilians killed as: Hayel Al Shaheen, 19 years old, and Iman Khaled Al-Shaban, 24 years old.

“The Orient correspondent said that, since the morning, the Assad militia has intensified its bombing of several areas in southern Idlib, killing a young man and a woman from the city of Kafr Nabl, south of Idlib, in addition to several other civilian casualties.”

A tweet by @anasanas84 reported “Targeting the vicinity of the city of Kafranbel in the southern countryside of Idlib with missiles carrying cluster bombs by the Assad gangs, wounding a number of civilians.”

Nazir Abu Omar, an activist in the Idlib countryside, told (Jeroun): “The regime forces stationed in the vicinity of Khan Sheikhoun targeted the western neighborhoods of the town of Kafr Nabl, with dozens of artillery shells and rockets carrying explosive cluster bombs, killing a man and a woman, and wounding two others.”

Shaam News also added that “Activists said that the Assad forces targeted the western outskirts of the city of Kafr Nabl with several internationally banned cluster rockets, reaching civilian homes, which led to the death of a young man and a woman, and wounding others, and civil defense teams transferred them to medical hospitals.”

Multiple sources referred to cluster bombs as being used in the strikes.

The majority of sources attributed the airstrikes to the regime. However, a post by @NEDAAPOST blamed Russia for carrying out the bombings.

This event was another violation of the ceasefire agreement.
