Airwars assessment
On Wednesday, December 3rd, 2023, an elderly man was seriously injured due to a drone attack allegedly perpetrated by the Turkish military, in the village of Binahi in the Sherawa district, north of Aleppo, Syria.
Issa Kado is a 73-year-old Kurdish civilian with short gray hair, a beard, a dark complexion, and wearing glasses. Dressed in a blue shirt with a gray sweater, dark dress pants, and black shoes, Issa was cultivating seeds on his land in the north of the village when the incident happened. He fell on the floor as he received serious injuries by shrapnel derived from the drone ammunition and later he was transferred to a hospital in Afrin for treatment.
Issa was in intensive care, as disclosed by the Rojava activist network. He had visible bleeding punctures on his face, torso, and feet, and stayed resting with an arm in a cast and his stomach bandaged, as posted by Ahmad Mousa’s Facebook account.
According to the Aleppo Governorate reported by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, the Turkish drone was deployed in two sites occupied by the regime and Kurdish forces. In the Shirawa District, northwest of Aleppo, clashes between the Kurdish and the Syrian Regime as well as between factions of the National Army led to an ongoing bombardment in the area.
Where sources identified the belligerent, all sources attributed the strike to the Turkish military.
