Airwars assessment
On the evening of Friday, May 31st, 2024, one civilian was injured by an artillery strike in the village of Sheikh Issa in Aleppo, Syria. The civilian was allegedly injured by artillery shelling by Turkish forces and factions loyal to them in a village in the northern countryside of Aleppo.
Several sources, including the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, reported that the Turkish forces and factions loyal to them bombed with heavy artillery the village of Sheikh Issa, populated with civilians, within the areas where Kurdish forces and regime forces are deployed in the northern countryside of Aleppo, resulting in the wounding of a citizen who was subsequently transferred to the hospital to receive treatment.
ANF reported that the civilian who was injured is Hussein Mahmoud Alia (60 years old) from the city of Tal Rifaat, and included an image of Hussein being treated in a hospital for his injuries.
Where sources identified a belligerent, all sources attributed the strike to Turkish forces.
