Last Updated: September 25, 2025

On Saturday, October 26th, 2024, at least five and up to 17 civilians were injured as a result of the alleged Turkish double-tap airstrikes and/or drone strikes on the city of Amuda and the surrounding village of Joli south of Amuda in the al-Hasakah governorate of Syria. The first strike reportedly injured three members of the Internal Security Forces, and the following one injured four civilian paramedics who treated the victims.

The Internal Security Forces centre and the Curriculum Foundation in the south of the city reportedly suffered the brunt of the damage. The majority of media reports were published in the afternoon, from 15:00, suggesting that the incident occurred in the late morning or around midday.

Ronahi Tv news, referring to the General Command of the Internal Security Forces announcement, reported that three members of the Internal Security Forcers were injured as a result of the two Turkish drone strikes, and then four paramedics were also injured. The statement reads: “A Turkish occupation drone targeted the village of Joli in the countryside of Amuda city, and our forces center in Amuda was bombed twice in a row by drones, which resulted in the injury of 3 of our comrades. While they were being transported by the residents, a drone bombed again for the third time, which resulted in the injury of 4 civilian paramedics.

ANF News initially corroborated this information, also stating that four civilian paramedics were injured as they treated three injured members of the Internal Security Forces. ANF simultaneously reported that eight civilians were injured because of the incident in Amuda. Al-Hadath Syria confirmed that eight civilians were injured as a result of the airstrike.

In footage uploaded to Facebook, JinTv showed three men in hospital suffering injuries from the incident. The video was captioned, and it noted that 17 people were injured as a result of the airstrike. There are no other reports of more than eight civilians being injured.

Hawar News reported the names of the eight identified persons injured in the Turkish bombing that hit an Internal Security Forces center and the Curriculum Foundation in the city of Amuda as: Dara Ali Tatar, Baria Khalil Tawfiq, Akram Bijou, Fawzi Suleiman, Alan Ibrahim, Humber, Masoud, and Khaled Salman Majed. The report did not specify whether those listed were civilians or militants, therefore those named have been assumed to be civilian until further information comes to light. Attached to the report was an image of an adult male lying stricken on a hospital bed, wounded in the torso.

At the time of writing, there was no additional information on the status of the civilians injured. As the injuries reportedly included three members of the Internal Security Forces who usually have a military background being former or current SDF fighters, they are not considered civilians until further information comes to light. Therefore, the minimum number of civilian injuries in this incident is five.

ROJ News reported on the incident and included a video of the airstrike unfolding. The video showed one explosion followed by a cloud of billowing smoke nearby. A separate photograph attached to the report showed three columns of smoke rising from separate locations.

ANF reported that the surrounding area was hit with 56 shells and one drone. Al-Hadath reported that The Syrian Observatory counted 18 airstrikes by Turkish drones that resulted in civilian casualties since October 23rd, 2024.

The incident was widely covered by local news outlets, and all sources identified the belligerent as the Turkish military.
