Multiple local sources named 30-year-old electrician Shahin Elitash as killed when the YPG allegedly fired a rocket or mortar into Qeireikhan in southern Turkey – the second reported incident in the town that day.
The victim, a father of two, was reportedly an employee of electricity company TEDAS and died while he was repairing power lines. As Al Jazeera explained, “A katyusha rocket was fired on the camp which killed 2 FSA members and injured 12 others. Near that same location two more katyusha rockets fell killing an electrician who was setting up an electrical generator for a camp of Syrian IDPs and for the families of FSA members. There the electrician was killed and 3 members of the FSA were killed who were visiting their families in the camp.”
At least one other civilian was wounded in the attack.
@oznurcalik and @bskhtyvllgi published images showing Turkey’s Deputy Prime Minister, Recep Akdag, meeting both the family of Shahin Elitash and an injured civilian in hospital.
