This Monday evening, the Israeli occupation forces committed a new massacre against Palestinian civilians in the Gaza Strip, after their warplanes bombed the "Al-Baqa" rest house west of Gaza City. The initial toll resulted in the deaths of 33 people, including journalist Ismail Abu Hatab, in addition to the injury of another journalist and other civilian casualties.

A correspondent for the "Sanad News Agency" reported that the Israeli airstrike directly targeted the "Al-Baqa" rest house while a number of civilians were inside, resulting in the deaths of 33 martyrs and dozens of wounded, in addition to significant material damage to the area.

The martyrs were identified as: journalist Ismail Abu Hatab, Mustafa Abu Omeira, Hisham Ayman Mansour, Hussam Mansour, and activist Omar Zeno.

According to an eyewitness, the "Al-Baqa" rest house was occupied by a water truck, and dozens of people, most of them children, lined up in front of it to fill up water. The eyewitness indicated that the bombing was direct. This resulted in bodies being scattered, and some body parts reaching the nearby beach, reflecting the extent of the destruction caused by the attack.

The "Al-Baqa" rest house on the Gaza beach is a refuge for many citizens who seek refuge there from the repeated Israeli shelling of their homes, due to its open spaces.

The Israeli occupation forces deliberately target civilian gatherings in various areas of the Gaza Strip, aiming to cause the largest possible number of casualties and incite panic among the population, in an aggressive policy that deliberately targets civilians.

ارتكبت قوات الاحتلال الإسرائيلي، مساء اليوم الاثنين، مجزرة جديدة بحق المواطنين الفلسطينيين في قطاع غزة، بعدما قصفت طائراتها الحربية استراحة "الباقة" غرب مدينة غزة، أسفرت عن ارتقاء 33 شهيدًا – في حصيلة أولية – من بينهم الصحفي إسماعيل أبو حطب، إلى جانب إصابة صحفية، وإصابات أخرى في صفوف المدنيين.

وقال مراسل "وكالة سند للأنباء" إن الغارة الإسرائيلية استهدفت استراحة "الباقة" بشكل مباشر خلال وجود عدد من المدنيين فيها، ما أدى إلى ارتقاء 33 شهيدًا وعشرات الجرحى، بالإضافة إلى أضرار مادية كبيرة في المكان.

وعُرف من الشهداء: الصحفي إسماعيل أبو حطب، مصطفى أبو عميرة، هشام أيمن منصور، حسام منصور، والناشط عمر زينو.

وبحسب شهادة شاهد عيان فإن استراحة "الباقة" شهدت تواجد شاحنة مياه، واصطف أمامها العشرات من الأشخاص، غالبيتهم من الأطفال، لتعبئة المياه، مُشيرًا إلى أن القصف كان مباشرًا؛ ما أدى إلى تطاير الجثث، ووصول بعض الأشلاء إلى شاطئ البحر القريب، مما يعكس حجم الدمار الكبير الذي خلفه الاستهداف.

وتعتبر استراحة "الباقة" على شاطئ بحر غزة ملاذًا للعديد من المواطنين الذين يلجأون إليها هربًا من قصف الاحتلال المتكرر على منازلهم، لما توفره من مساحات مفتوحة.

وتتعمد قوات الاحتلال استهداف تجمعات المدنيين في مناطق مختلفة من قطاع غزة، بهدف إيقاع أكبر عدد ممكن من الضحايا وإثارة الذعر بين السكان، في سياسة عدوانية تستهدف المدنيين عمدًا.
