Journalist Hussam Shabat, a contributor to Al Jazeera Mubasher, was martyred on Monday in an Israeli airstrike that targeted his car in Jabalia, northern Gaza Strip.

The death toll from Israeli airstrikes in Gaza over the past 48 hours has risen to 61, with 134 wounded, according to a statement from the Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip.
The statement added that an unknown number of victims remain under the rubble, as rescue teams are unable to retrieve them due to a lack of fuel and the paralysis of civil defense equipment.
This brings the total number of martyrs since October 7, 2023, to 50,082, while the total number of wounded has reached 113,408.

استُشهد الصحفي حسام شبات المتعاون مع قناة الجزيرة مباشر، اليوم الاثنين، في قصف إسرائيلي استهدف سيارته في جباليا شمالي قطاع غزة.
وأعلن المكتب الإعلامي الحكومي في غزة ارتفاع عدد الشهداء الصحفيين منذ بدء الحرب الإسرائيلية على القطاع إلى 208، بعد استشهاد شبات.
وأدان المكتب في بيان بأشد العبارات استهداف وقتل واغتيال الاحتلال الإسرائيلي للصحفيين الفلسطينيين، داعيا الاتحاد الدولي للصحفيين، واتحاد الصحفيين العرب، وكل الأجسام الصحفية في كل دول العالم إلى إدانة هذه الجرائم الممنهجة ضد الصحفيين والإعلاميين الفلسطينيين في قطاع غزة.
وجاء استشهاد شبات بعد أقل من ساعة من نشره -عبر فيسبوك- نبأ استشهاد الصحفي محمد منصور مراسل قناة "فلسطين اليوم"، إثر قصف مشابه استهدف شقته في خان يونس جنوبي القطاع.
وارتفع عدد شهداء الغارات الإسرائيلية في غزة خلال الساعات الثماني والأربعين الماضية إلى 61، وبلغ عدد الجرحى 134، وفق بيان لوزارة الصحة في قطاع غزة.
وأضاف البيان أن عددا غير معروف من الضحايا لا يزال تحت الأنقاض، في ظل عجز فرق الإنقاذ عن انتشالهم، بسبب انعدام الوقود، وشلل معدات الدفاع المدني.
وبذلك يرتفع العدد الإجمالي للشهداء منذ 7 أكتوبر/تشرين الأول 2023 إلى 50082، في حين يبلغ العدد الإجمالي للمصابين 113,408.
